Module 6 End of Learning 2.0 program My thoughts

I enjoyed the program. I was familiar with a number of the new applications but this program made me stop and really look at them, actually try some of them out for the first time. The program ran for an ideal length of time for me with my other commitments, meetings, desk, training, lifelong learning etc etc. Any longer and it would have been too onerous to fit in.
Clearly there are plenty of opportunities for libraries to incorporate some of the initiatives. It has given me ideas for my own area of collection responsibility. Twitter for quick information provision to the user group for example to let them know that bookings are open for a particular event. Before this I wasn't convinced about the usefulness of a blog having started one a few years ago and ending up doing almost all the posts myself after initial enthusiasm waned with other contributors but now I want one for the public.
Thanks to the Divisional Training and Development Team (especially Leanne, Carmen and Berta) for setting up, supporting and adapting the program to our needs. It has been a good way to keep up with the changing technological world in which we find ourselves in libraries and in society!
